Club Activity weekend at Powis castle 2009
We have been asked by a number of members if we can return to this site for the rally at the end of May, because the off roading is suitable for everyone and the site is great, but for 2009 there is going to be some changes, the first is the Name the event is being changed so will the name, it is a weekend event about by calling it the National gives the wrong impression,and that it will be just off roading, which it is not the event is far more than that. So it is now the Club Activity weekend, this means that there is
going to be a lot going on.
To give you a flavour of what we have in mind, the weekend will cover
Tuition in Trailer reversing, we will supply the trailer and the instructor
Off road driving tuition both theory and of course practical
Vehicle maintenance, Learn how to save money on doing some repairs on your vehicle
yourself , we intend to have some rigs set out to show you just how simple some jobs are.
And yes you can do it! A few tools a little knowledge and you will save pounds
Children's Games Scaletrixs and Wii games plus of course sack races etc, and adults can take part as well
The Charity auction will be on the Saturday evening.
The club will be supplying large barbeques so you will not need yours, just bring some thing to cook down to the marquee and join in and have fun.

Holiday Rally 2009 Sourport on Severn. Worcs. August 22nd to 31st August 2009
As you will see we are having a change in the location for the 2009 rally. We have had two years on the coast, on a very nice site but for both years it has rained, and after you have been round the local towns there is not a lot you can do on the beach in high winds and pouring rain, these are facts I am sure you will agree with.
So we have a plan, by going to this site which is along side the River Seven
Every pitch will have a hook up and the site is level, there is of course showers and toilets there is even special needs facilities including a wheel chair shower, just outside the site is a Spar shop and laundrette. The site is a 5 star site and hold the coveted David Bellamy Gold award for conservation with numerous bird and bat boxes on the site and even have facilities for recycling
We will have some options
If we have fine weather there is of course plenty to do but what if it rains
So here are just a few things which we could do
Visits to
Severn Valley Railway Drayton Manor Theme Park
Merry hill shopping centre Worcester for fruit (plums etc)
Birmingham again for shopping or the excellent museums
Brierley ill and see glass products being made
Black Country Living museum
Or visit BewdleyCadbury World
West Midland Safari park
From the site you can walk to the local town down the river bank, or even go by boat the ferry picks up at the site or go by river to Worcester or fish on the river
We could hire a river boat for a group trip, or the ferry which runs a pirate trip for children of all ages, it would arrive at the site flying the skull and cross bones flag and a pirate in control the children are encouraged to dress up and get involved, it does sound a lot of fun
We have also found out that a number of the attractions will be happy to give
discounts to organised groups, so we will be when we send out details try and get an idea of which visits people are interested in going to
So even if it rains we will have enough to keep us occupied for the stay there, add to that the site is not far from the motorway network with the M5 being the nearest
Motorway, it is easy to reach from all parts of the country.
