I used the difflock synthetic oil in my gearbox last time i changed it but it was expensive. Can anyone recommend a cheaper synthetic alternative. The synthetic oil did seem to improve the gear change when cold.

Yea the Difflock stuff is pretty eye-watering. Opinions seem to differ on whether it's actually 3x better than anything else, personally it seems pretty unlikely (if it were THAT much better, bigger companies would have copied it by now). Loads of synth alternatives around - maybe try Opie Oils or Smith and Allan? Both have pretty helpful customer service as well.
