Alan, don't know what went wrong yesterday but sounds like one of those days you'd have been better staying safely in the pub the whole day!

Iíd agree. After an hour or two in the pub and a couple of pints of the finest ale, everything you do will be right and the day will be going well! Wink Very Happy

Until you get home, that is... Smile

Paul, how was the holiday? Youíre back in time for the rain!

Cornwall was great - weather was fantastic for the 4 days we were there. As soon as we moved into Devon the heavens opened and we had a storm in Sidmouth of almost biblical proportions. One minute the roads were dry and the next there were rivers running down them.

There is probably bound to be some moral to the story of moving away from good weather....

My mate used to sell Land Rovers and bought part exchange ones from a dealer in Falmouth who moved to Truro. I'd go by train to Truro, be met at the station, collect the Land Rover from the dealer and drive back using trade plates.
It was cheaper to buy a rail ticket from home to Exeter St. David's and buy a ticket there to Truro. With an hour to wait I'd have one refreshing drink in the Jolly Porter near St. David's.

Donít you just love a good wedding! It always brings out the family politics! My brother, whoís getting hitched tomorrow has just had an argument with my sister. Rolling Eyes

Still, Iím sure all will go well and normality will be restored tomorrow. I just have to remember to refer to my sister in law by the correct name and not by the previous girlfriendís name... Shocked

The dogs took me to the pub at lunchtime (must get them out of the habit!) and on our return Mrs. D had mown the lawns using the battery mowrtshe bought earlier this year. Last time the lawns were mown was the beginning of June.
It's trying to rain here.

Absolutely poured down this afternoon, so naturally, me and my best mate went kayaking down the river Avon. Got completely soaked but had a real good time.

How's the wedding go Rich?

The wedding itself was fine. A really nice service. The church was packed.

My sister arrived with a face like thunder and in true wedding style, there were some politics and cross words later in the evening, helped no doubt by too much wine. She left early. My brother is not happy. I suspect it will be some time until he speaks to her again...

Still, back home now saying hello to baby knappster and enjoying a brew! Very Happy

Thankfully, itís the last family wedding for a long time! Got a friendís wedding at the end of September but they tend to be less trouble. Smile

I received a text today to remind me that I am eligible for a free flu jab and to book an appointment.
Winter's on the way.

Today has been a busy day for the Land Rover. In the morning it transported me and my heavy duty strimmer to strim my mate's stretch of river bank (and no, I didn't fall in to the disappointment of everyone) and in the afternoon dropped Mrs. D off at the garden centre, on to take the dogs for a decent run and then back home for them and then back to collect Mrs.D from the garden centre.

I had the first day of my response driving requalification today. A nice brisk drive through Wales via Ross on Wye, Abergavenny and some nice A and B roads to the Brecon park visitor centre for lunch. Then it was back via Hay on Wye and more twisty roads. Some good overtakes thrown in.

There are still lots of landies in use in wales. Plenty of Defenders about although there were also lots of japanese competition too.

Day two tomorrow, local routes closer to home. Not as many landies though!
