Just saying hello from near Welshpool in Powys.
I've had my Series 3 for a year now but only just got around to joining.
It's a 1982 hard-top in bronze green and cream with 64K on the clock. It's fairly original and I'm very pleased with it but wonder if there is any way of finding out the exact build standard when new - for example should it have black or a galvanised front bumper?
Cheers,
Andy

Welcome to the forum Andy. Diesel or petrol? The bumper would have almost certainly be galvanized.

Hello Andy

Welcome to the forum.

Lots of expert 'leafers' on here who will be able to help out. I could help if you were a coil rider.

Cheers
Geoff

Galvanised bumper - look way better. I had to get rid of horrible ill-fitting black replacement bumpers on both my Stage Ones when I got them - one had been cut to make it fit (too close) without the necessary separate brackets for the Stage One, and they are also slightly wider than Series bumpers for the extra width of the later coil-sprung Land Rovers. Sold one on ebay and the cut one went to the tip (pre-ebay) Should be easier to find a good original galvanised bumper of the ordinary Series 3 sort than it is a Stage One type these days.

Welcome to the forum.
Double ditto for a galvanized bumper, I believe all series had them and 90 and 110 had painted. Smile

I believe even some (very) early 110s and 90s were fitted originally with galv bumpers, eg see Dunsfold's early 90 B169 NEC (see Classic Land Rover April 2018 - it's on the cover)
