Paul, hopefully heís found someone else to impart his advice and opinion on. Or he saw the opportunity to export himself with the bling machine. Smile

The very nice 110 station wagon I commented on a few pages back which I thought was visiting someone else on our estate appears to be a permanent resident now. Itís got a very shiny Richards chassis fitted, a patriot roof rack, smart alloys and a winch bumper amongst other mods. The only issue I could see in passing was the body capping rusting slightly but then itís just a case of the Landy keeping its owner busy! I keep looking out for the owner to have a chat about the 110 but havenít seen him yet. I know itís a bloke as Iíve seen it being driven in town. Mrs k is accusing me of being a curtain twitcher when I look out for the owner! Rolling Eyes Smile

The galvanised body cappings on us earlier Land Rover owners' trucks are a regular source of envy amongst owners of later Land Rovers Smile Def not an improvement by Solihull.

Paul, you have a Land Rover, he doesn't. What's more to discuss? Smile You're a Land Rover owner, he's a car dealer. End of. Cool

Thanks for that Geoff - I'll use the 'I'm a Land Rover owner and you're a car dealer' if he shows his face down our end again Smile

You could use a few other choice words to describe him no doubt. Smile

We had oysters in a local restaurant this evening. The increase in gendarmerie in town was noticeable. Lots of strategically placed concrete blocks on pedestrian areas. Signs of the current security threat in France.

The spare distributor for my MGB GT arrived yesterday if that's of any interest. I shall be sending it to the Distributor Doctor for a rebuild less vacuum advance to suit the tuned engine.

It's a used worn out original Lucas from a business in Curdridge, Hants, about 25 miles from me that sells used MG parts and which I have only recently discovered.
Of course it could be used on a Land Rover if it was rebuilt with the correct vacuum advance and springs etc.
There's been a Lamborghini stuck in the centre lane of the M27 for some time and no one has collided with it. I think it's just been removed.

A Landy would just drive over it! But from my experience of driving on the M27, im surprised that nobody did collide with it! Surprised

I spent the whole morning changing all the flexible fuel lines on Henry. Unfortunately he still won't start without the aid of a squirt of dampstart. I think I may be visiting the local 4x4 doctor in the near future Sad

Took baby knappster for her first visit to the beach today. She loved it! Very Happy It was the best weather weíve had all week and on the last day too. She helped make so many sand castles that she nearly needed planning permission for a new development! And she was very impressed with the tractors collecting boats and canoes from the sea! Smile An added bonus was the display put on by the French equivalent of the red arrows over the beach this afternoon.

We finished the day off with dinner out. I had steak and veg, assisted in its consumption by baby knappster. Mrs k had a tuna burger. A couple of drinks and then back to our accommodation for the night. Home again tomorrow.

Once again the acrid blue smoke and smell of carbonized animal is wafting through the afternoon air.
Had my flu jab this morning.
On my way to the pub lunchtime I saw a Rolls Royce reg 1993 RR. I looked it up on the DVLA site and it's shown as first registration February 1995, year of manufacture 1995 but is would imagine it was manufactured in an earlier year.

Went to Southampton with Mrs K this afternoon. Unfortunately the boat show meant it was very busy. I wanted to go the the LRO show but the distance from the in-laws and a shopping list of non-Landy stuff meant the show took a back-seat for this year. Baby knappster had an afternoon with the in-laws. I kept the brownie points for not going to use at the Newbury sale at the end of the month. Very Happy
