Hi A friend in Australia has a 1965 Series 2a with the top section of the housing has the o-ring inside, or at least a groove in which one should go? But the part he has is from an earlier series 2 so the only thermostat which will fit is the modern flat style one, which makes it overheat as it doesn't allow the radiator to flow properly. Can anyone suggest where to get the correct upper section thermostat housing or correct thermostat? I think the incorrect part he has is 5511956.

Thanks again

He adds
mine has a different shape inlet to suit the shallower skirted type thermostat.
