Hey All

When I purchased my S3 back in April it came with a trailer - thrown in.
The trailer currently resides at my Outlaws in Pontesbury in Shropshire and I need to get it home to Chichester in West Sussex.
Iím willing to pay £100 cash on arrival.
Oh and it needs a ring type hitch - not a ball.

Please get in touch

Regards

Richard

What is it, a Sanky with a NATO hitch?

It doesn't look like a NATO. The ring looks too thick and the hole too small. Debatable whether a NATO coupling would fit. I reckon it's an old agricultural hitch and I don't think a "pin and ball" type will fit either. An agricultural open jaw and pin type coupling would fit though. The answer would be to replace the hitch with a standard 50mm ball hitch.

Morning rfurber, pleased the bonnet is OK. Look forward to the pictures so that I can compare with the ones I sent you.
It's difficult to tell from a photo but if the pin and ball hitch fits then a NATO one may fit too.

It looks like it might fit a Dixon bate pintle hitch. But if itís a trailer you intend to use on the road, Iíd suggest changing it for a standard 50 mm ball hitch as it will make it easier for changing between different vehicles and can be recovered too if your towing vehicle breaks down. Smile

Thanks for the info Rich. I looked at the Dixon Bate website and there are pintle hitches with deep jaws that would take a NATO hitch so I may get one which will do for towing ball and ring hitch trailers and sell my NATO hitch with slider plate.

There are couriers who advertise on the likes of eBay who will quote to move it if you get no takers here.
