My 90 is fitted with a 200Tdi disco engine. It has the original temperature guage which does not appear to be accurate when it decides to work. It’s got the disco conversion sensor fitted which still shows the engine as running hotter than it is so isn’t accurate.

Some internet research shows a replacement guage in the correct size to replace the original guage is available from VDO. Has anyone fitted a VDO guage, particularly to a Landy with a Tdi conversion? I know from buying the sensor for the Tdi that they came in two thread sizes so I’ll need to see what thread size I’ve got, which hopefully I can do using the receipt instead of removing it. There is a suggestion on some websites that VDO don’t do a sensor that fits, although the link shows they do...

Rich, the gauge has to match the sender so it depends on what sender is fitted.

Hi Alan, I know they need to match, which is why I’m looking to change the sender. I’ve seen some online who’ve modified an existing LR one with a VDO one as the threads apparently don’t fit from the VDO one, but 200Tdi’s, according to the Steve Parker website, had two different thread sizes on the temp senders, so I’m hoping I can just buy a VDO one off of the shelf. Typical LR though to have different thread sizes on the same part! Rolling Eyes Evil or Very Mad
