Just checking that a 90577520 is the correct master cylinder for pre-1980 vehicle fitted with TLS front brakes and a servo before I buy the replacement. _________________ 1978 Series 3 S/W 2.25 Petrol/LPG

Don't know a whole lot about brakes except what I have myself and don't know what TLS brakes are, but that number appears to be for a dual line system. Is that what you have? No doubt someone more knowledgeable will answer. _________________ 2 1981 Stage One 109 V8 Station Wagons |

Thanks Geoff.
TLS are the 109" front brakes. (Twin Leading Shoe) I have a double line. _________________ 1978 Series 3 S/W 2.25 Petrol/LPG

Lowcatjo, I've had a look in the Optional Parts Catalogue and 90577520 is the correct part number for a master cylinder for 109 brakes.
This set up is optional on SWB's. Do you retrofit it or was it there when you bought the Land Rover?
Edit. Blanchard's have Britpart ones for £39.95 plus VAT and carriage. _________________ Alan Drover.

Why didn't I think of looking there? - it's amazing how much is hiding away there! (oh yes, I remember - it would have involved getting out of bed on a Sunday morning! - Parts Book online and on computer, Optional Book illegible on both - perhaps should leave my paper copy on bedside table for bedtime reading? ) _________________ 2 1981 Stage One 109 V8 Station Wagons |

Geoff, I always find it's easier and far quicker to use books and manuals than it is faffing around on line. _________________ Alan Drover.

Yes, Alan, but you don't live in a big old house with no central heating where it's warmer in bed with my laptop on my lap! (Otherwise I would indeed agree with you) _________________ 2 1981 Stage One 109 V8 Station Wagons |

Thanks Alan.
That will be the one. It's fitted as optional.
I'll get one ordered.
I'm double triple checking as a mate recently rebuilt a s2 with TLS fronts and it took us 2 months to figure out the new master was for the SWB and that was why there was no pedal.
Thanks. _________________ 1978 Series 3 S/W 2.25 Petrol/LPG
