I do have to say that I would definitely consider an upgrade to a 2.5 petrol. Over to you Adie Smile

Another vote for the 2.5. My Series 3 used to have a 2.5 petrol and it was a good upgrade. It would definitely outrun any tumbleweed! Smile

Drove the Land Rover to the garage to have the clutch master and slave cylinders replaced along with the flexible hose. It looks like the flexible hose was leaking.
I tried to avoid using the clutch too much and once I got on the main road and negotiated the first roundabout, the remaining 5 miles, 5 roundabouts and one right turn were done without having to stop or change out of top gear.
Collect it 13th.

Land Rover back today with clutch hydraulics replaced. It looks like the flexible hose was weeping. The slave cylinder didn't look too bad but I have never replaced it in the 32 years of ownership. The master cylinder looked OK but not worth spoiling the ship for a ha'peth of tar. The clutch feels lighter now and bites lower down. The old fluid was very dirty maybe from the flexible hose.
Well,that's my news.

Organising the purchase of a garage that will fit a Land Rover - unfortunately this also involves the removal of the old garage and 50 years of accumulated 'stuff' therein - anybody want a 2.25 Land Rover petrol engine?

My 1977 manufactured, 1978 registered MGB GT is now tax free after I spent 15 minutes in the queue at the Post Office on Tuesday 3rd April and 2 minutes at "Cashier no 6."
