" ... and the pills that Mother gives you do nothing at all"

Funny, I never figured you for a Gracie Slick fan, Alan. Pity the Airplane went seriously downhill in the '80s, but not a good decade for music IMO. But then 'all things must pass' (as George Harrison sang - and as both he and Grace Slick have themselves indeed done)

The Airplane became Starship for some strange reason. I have a taste in music that will seem strange to a lot of people. I can't stand Queen so there you go.

Me neither!

Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady (lead guitar & bassist) left (having already formed Hot Tuna) and I don't think they would allow the others to continue to use the Airplane name - they took the Jefferson Starship name from a 'solo' album of Paul Kantner's called Blows Against the Empire which involved a plethora of West Coast musicians billed as Paul Kantner and the Jefferson Starship - the first album I ever bought as a teenager. Later they became just Starship, were unrecognisable and not worth listening to anymore - shame. More innocent times (sort of)

And here endeth the lesson (did Rich say something about 'educational'?)

It's certainly educational.
We're watching "The Coroner." It's set in Dartmouth and the coroner drives an immaculate 1977 grey soft top petrol SWB Series 3. It's currently taxed.

Having never watched, I'm not sure why a coroner would need a Land Rover, unless he's a green laner on his days off, but it sounds a nice truck. My green Land Rover was mid grey originally and I'd like to return it to grey, but a darker shade preferably (shows the dirt less!)

Lots of singers and groups I’ve not heard of. Must be before my time. Smile

Little knappster had a great birthday. Mrs K and I are now putting our feet up for a bit before bed after a very full-on day. Smile

The asbo Audi goes tomorrow. I checked it one last time to make sure I didn’t have anything left in it. I will be at work so Mrs K will hand over the keys and paperwork.

Geoff - sorry but you are wrong about the Eighties - great music! I also think 60's, 70's & early 90's music was good.

And Alan, I love Queen Smile

I don’t mind a bit of Queen. And the late 80’s and 90’s, definitely! Very Happy I’ve recently started listening to 90’s radio again too. Very Happy

The radio in the garage is tuned to Gold UK, good old records from the 60' & 70's. Some 80's music is OK too. I like Dire Straits among others. Hall and Oates "Maneater" is another I like as is "Golden Brown" by the Stranglers even though I know what it refers to.They're Coming to Take Me Away Ha Ha by Napoleon XlV amuses me as well. I've got the single but nothing to play it on so I get my fix of it from youtube. Likewise Oh Well, Parts 1 & 2 by Fleetwood Mac and The Chain too.

The Dire Straits is ok, but I won’t be sharing a garage any time soon with that music Alan! Smile

Yes, Alan and I are dinosaurs, and I for one am quite happy to be one.
