The asbo Audi goes tomorrow. I checked it one last time to make sure I didn’t have anything left in it.

It's just a car. When my first Land Rover went, I left half my life in it.

Geoff - sorry but you are wrong about the Eighties - great music! I also think 60's, 70's & early 90's music was good.

And Alan, I love Queen Smile

How did I know I was going to hear from you about this, Paul? Smile

I like Dire Straits too, but I prefer Mark Knopfler's later solo records. He's one of those musicians who just seems to get even better as they age. Perhaps I like them more because I'm ageing too!

Yes, and I’m not attached to it at all. I won’t miss it. Given the circumstances of the collision, I’m lucky to get out alive. It’s going, so I’ll be shopping for a replacement.

I agree totally. I've had lots of cars over the years, and they just come and go.
When I sold the 110 after 18 years of ownership a big part of me went with her. Luckily she went to another Land Rover nut in Wales, so that cushioned the blow a little bit (going to a good home etc).
My Series 3 had to go when we moved house (and country). It was close to being ready to put back on the road. Again it was a notable loss.
The Disco is fast falling into the Land Rover nut category too, as I've gone over it with a fine toothed comb to weedle out any botched repairs and to slowly get it to where I want it to be (personalised) and bringing up to scratch. Getting there.

So the asbo Audi has gone to the big car yard in the sky, aka the car recyclers in Oxford courtesy of a big truck this morning. Mrs K took a few pics of it going for posterity. Smile so I’m now using her car and the 90.

There’s been a shift in the weather. Overcast with showers here all day. And I have recycled an old metal cabinet which was going in the skip at work to put in the garage to store my growing collection of bits. Mrs K has another description for my things stored in the garage, which I can’t put on here though. I’ll collect it in the 90 tomorrow. Smile

That's what I call recycling. I've a bunch of tools stored in an old metal deed box I salvaged from the local tip many years ago Smile

That sort of recycling would go down well in Stroud. They recycle everything here!

A guy at work has just posted a picture of his Discovery Sport on the back of a big yellow taxi, going back to the LR main dealer with a problem . It’s the sixth time. Not a good advert! Rolling Eyes

It's a good advert for the 'big yellow taxi' Smile

Sitting here wondering what I'd do in lockdown without Tumbleweed. There's only so much gardening you can do, and it's raining now, and I think I've already spent everything I saved by not bothering to re-tax one of my Land Rovers at the end of April on ebay! There's always YouTube of course ... Rolling Eyes

And the discovery sport he had as a replacement was absolutely filthy inside. Definitely not cleaned or valeted in between users. Again, not a good advert for JL or the dealer. Rolling Eyes
