Hello mate - welcome to the forum. And welcome to skinned knuckles, sweaty brows and swearing in frustration - and then when your internet connection is working properly (stupid bloody ISP), some delightful companionship.

Nice looker SomeGingerLad. Check the chassis from front to rear thoroughly including the rear cross member, the outriggers where the petrol tank is and all around the front and rear spring hangers. The bulkhead should be checked for corrosion and the driver and passenger footwells too. Mechanical items and lights, steering etc as well.
Don't be afraid to ask, nobody on this forum will ever think that any question asked is a daft on. We are not elitist here.
Have fun.

Welcome along SomeGingerLAd

Nice looking Series 3. Good luck with getting it through the MOT, looks to be ex MOD? Do you have any history on it?

Hi. I don't think it is ex mod. I dont have much history on it. I have a few mot papers from the 80s but that's about it.
How do you tell if it is ex mod?

There is usually a plate inside the drivers door on the seat box identifying it as ex-mod. If not, contacting either the ex-mod Land Rover association or perhaps the British motor industry heritage department at Gaydon who would have details of where the vehicle was supplied using the chassis number.

As Rich says, but my first clue was the front bumper. Typical MOD with the overiders
