What have things come to when any self-respecting farmer needs to call the AA? Especially just to undertake the old potato trick? Since finally achieving a certain level of affluence in my later years I too can now afford to carry an actual real spare condenser, which takes up less room than a spare potato and lasts better, but I understand that times are hard for small farmers these days.

I think that I read somewhere that the 'Condenser' was actually invented in Ireland when the great potato famine was at its height.
