Hi Everyone,

I'm just trying to work out what colour to paint my 88", it has window sides and a safari roof in limestone, which I quite like, so am not going to touch that...it's currently faded Marine Blue...but as it's also stripped to half of its former self I thought a repaint is in order, any suggestions?

I know it's a vague topic, everyone to their own views and that, just wondered if somebody could point me to something that could make up my mind...otherwise, it'll be fresh Marine Blue...not a bad thing I suppose!

Cheers in advance,

Red

I think that mid grey actually looks really smart. Marine blue & bronze green have been done to death (yes, I know they're traditional but sometimes variety can be the spice of life), grey is more uncommon & suprisingly eye catching Smile

Mr Perkins will be going limestone when I finally get round to it.
Although a mid grey sounds good too.

I might be accused of being biased here, but marine blue with the limestone roof is the best colour. Mine has a limestone plain hardtop with no side windows, which is my favourite colour scheme... ( We won't mention the greenish tint as a result of parking under a tree... Rolling Eyes )

Stick with the marine blue! Cool

Some good answers, I was liking the mid grey earlier, but it can look somewhat wishy washy, then I see one and think its good..in fact one of my new doors is in mid grey!

Though, marine blue would be the easier options...I'm just so indecisive!

Thanks for the input and comments though folks!

Any inclination to paint it the colour it left the factory?

Nope and no intention to fill all the ripples and dents either. I think it would be like giving Granny a face lift it just wouldn't look right, all the lines and wrinkles tell a story and as for the paint I can spot her in a car park full of Landys easily! Nothing against a full resto, but it's just not my thing. Be a bit different that's me that is!
Percy.

Thinking about these colours, we are in fact very fortunate that so few options were available back then.

In 2050 it is going to be quite a different task to decide which colour the barn find evoke ever was.

BT yellow!

My SIII left the factory in marine blue; a previous owner rebuilt it, swapped from 2.25diesel to 2.25petrol and repainted it red. Which has now faded.
I'm swapping from petrol to 200tdi and thinking about going back to marine blue, or BT yellow...
