Hi Folks,

Just got another Series 3 after a few barren years - should not have sold the old one, but regrets etc.......

Welcome to the Forum Yule.

Well done on the purchase - hope the big engine doesn't rattle the old Series apart!

Cheers

What tank did you get Yule? Interesting as mine is leaking, see my post 'MOT' in 'series 3 discussions' and you will see the mess on my drive also! Interesting your comment about the patch repair. A few people have suggested this route to me, but while you can get a petrol tank clean and dry because the fuel evaporates, you can't easily get a diesel tank free of oil around the repair which then hinders the patch gripping the steel.

Did you get a brand new 'pattern' tank or a good second hand original item?

Hi Adey,
I have replied to your pm.
The tank is new from M&M near Droitwich - I got the tank, new sender & gasket for less than 120. There is nothing to be gained from patching again in my opinion.
Very Happy
