9. Organising an event

All proposed events to be cleared through the club BEFORE organising A MINIMUM of at least 3  MONTHS notice is required of any event to allow adequate time, to publicise in the club magazine.

All events are to be self financing, any event which has not been approved, will not be subsidised or supported in any way by the club, and all returns (i.e. signing on sheets and insurance money to be sent to the club the day following the  event finish). Will arrange for adequate signing of an event and the removal of the signs after the event. Will be at the event from start to finish or arrange suitable deputy. Club toilets or hire toilets to be checked twice a day and emptied as required. Any serious problems encountered during an event must be notified as soon as possible to the Clubs Head Office, and written details forwarded. All members, with a current membership card, can attend any event or meeting in any area.  Please make them welcome.

 

Motor Sport can be dangerous

Despite the organisers taking all reasonable precautions, unavoidable accidents can happen.  In respect of this you attend events at your own risk. The club has an exemption certificate which allows us to hold camping events of up to 28 days. Most organisations only have a 5 day exemption.

 

Event Classification

 

Offroad events run by the club under MSA (Motor Sports Association) rules encompass the following MSA event classification:-

 

Gymkhana

An event held wholly on private ground and in which no test is determined solely by the speed of the  competing vehicle, or by the skill of the driver in controlling the vehicle, and in which if there are to be timed tests, there will be at least an equal number of untimed tests. No test may be timed to an accuracy of less than five seconds.
